The African League of Cyber-Activists and Bloggers for Democracy, commonly known as AfricTivistes, is the union of bloggers and web-activists from the continent and its diaspora to promote and defend democratic values, human rights and good governance through digital means.
It was created in November 2013 with the aim of providing concrete and appropriate solutions to the major challenges hindering the development and unity of the African continent by networking civil society information agents (such as bloggers, digital influencers, and citizen journalists), activists, computer scientists, journalists, open data experts, digital technology trainers, lawyers, citizen networks, and movements for change.
