Vie‑Publique.sn

  • Story

Vie‑Publique.sn is an independent civic platform in Senegal making public information accessible and understandable. Launched in April 2024, it grew from a volunteer‑driven project into a vibrant open‑source space where citizens can access official documents like budgets, laws, audit reports, and government decisions—all in one and politically independent space.

The platform empowers citizens, journalists, and civil society to explore government data, understand public decisions, and hold authorities accountable. By making information clear and accessible online and offline, Vie‑Publique.sn helps build a more informed and active society, as it demonstrated during the 2024 legislative elections.

With support from Africtivistes, as part of the Digitalise Youth and AHEAD Africa projects, and powered by the Digital Democracy Initiative, Vie‑Publique.sn is extending its digital open-source tools to improve transparency for the 2027 municipal elections. The platform will feature six interactive modules—electoral information, dashboards, voter-station maps, citizen reporting, open data, and automated polling results—helping citizens, journalists, and civic organisations access and use information effectively.
