Association Mauritanienne pour le Développement, la Recherche et le Suivi (ADRES) is a Mauritanian grassroots organisation partners with communities to address social challenges. By opening spaces for participation and dialogue, they empower citizens—especially young people—to shape their communities and influence the decisions that affect their lives.

ADRES has led initiatives across Mauritania, particularly in Guidimakha, that give young people a voice and the tools to act. In collaboration with other civil society groups, it runs programmes that build life skills, strengthen social cohesion, and help youth confidently engage in public life, turning ideas into tangible change.

With support from Africtivistes, as part of the Digitalise Youth and AHEAD Africa projects, and powered by the Digital Democracy Initiative, ADRES is equipping young people in Nouakchott—especially in marginalised neighbourhoods like Dar Naim and Toujounine—with better access to electoral rights information and citizen engagement tools. Through a digital observatory, youth track electoral developments and share their insights, while a WhatsApp legal chatbot provides clear guidance on voting rights.
