From 10 to 12 September 2024, AHEAD Africa partners the African Election Observers Network (AfEONet) and it’s secretariat – the Alliance for Finance Monitoring (ACFIM) – co-organised in Uganda the first Electoral Integrity Africa Summit under the theme “Strengthening Electoral Transparency, Public Oversight, and Collaborative Reforms.”

The Summit sought to position AfEONet as a leading continental representative, coordinator, and facilitator of collaboration among election observers throughout Africa. It brought together a wide range of stakeholders involved in electoral processes from across the continent, creating a unique platform for participants to explore the challenges facing electoral and democratic processes, drawing on their firsthand experiences, and to collaborate on developing actionable strategies aimed at improving electoral integrity across Africa.
