Citizen election observers across Africa are navigating shrinking civic space, political roadblocks, and unpredictable funding like urban explorers in a city with shifting streets.

The 2026 Experiential Learning Seminar in Addis Ababa hosted by the African Election Observers Network from 23 to 24 March gives them a map, a toolkit, and a chance to share hard-won lessons that help observation activities stay effective and resilient in different contexts.

This seminar is about turning challenges into strategy. From observing without permission to building safety nets and financial lifelines, participants will tackle real-world obstacles head-on.
